About

If you know Kendra, you know she loves books, dinosaurs and sneakers. She is the author of SMALL BUT MIGHTY: WHY EARTH’S TINY CREATURES MATTER (Owlkids Books). She is also a writer and editor on the marketing and strategic communications team at the Ontario Science Centre. Before joining the Science Centre in 2021, Kendra spent almost 10 years at Owlkids, working her way up from Assistant Editor to Editor of OWL Magazine, Canada’s largest publication for 9 to 13 year-olds. While in the Editor role, she helped relaunch the magazine into a STEAM-focused publication. She also oversaw the launch of owlconnected.com, a daily news site for kids, and a bi-weekly current affairs eMag.

Throughout her career, Kendra has helped to research, write, edit and create content for many clients, including Youth Culture, Let’s Talk Science, FIRST Robotics Canada, People for Education, Today’s Parent and Owlkids.

Encouraging and inspiring curiosity, creativity and a love of science in people of all ages is what Kendra does best. Some say that she is best-known for her laugh, which she is told is infectious. But Kendra knows better—that just means it’s loud.
